Cherry BINGO Challenge!

Cherry Families,

We challenge our Cherry students and their families to participate in this BINGO Challenge during our current school closures.  The objective is simple: complete as many of the following challenges as possible!  Parents are encouraged to upload pictures of their students participating in the activities to our Cherry Facebook page.

As you complete the activities, mark an X through the square.  Students who achieve a “blackout” may turn in their BINGO cards when we return to school for a special prize!  (This is not required, but is encouraged to continue learning and to have fun!)

Hard copies of this document will be mailed home to all current Cherry students, and will also be available at the food distribution sites (Linnie Roberts Elementary and BC Junior High School), as well as at H-E-B.

Read a story together.  Draw a picture of the characters and setting.	Make a list of items in your home by their shapes (circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, etc.).	Plan and cook dinner together.  Use measuring cups and spoons!	Write down the numbers 1-20 in random order.  Cut out the numbers and put them in order.	Make a necklace by stringing noodles (or cereal, beads, etc.) onto a bit of string.
Go for a walk.  Make a list of living and nonliving things that you see.	Pour a cup of cereal onto the table.  Sort pieces by color, shape, or size.  How many categories do you need to sort it all?	Make a list of words that rhyme with bat.	Create a puzzle by cutting your own pieces out of a cereal box or an old picture.	Count the windows in your house.  If you opened two windows, how many would still be closed?
Make your name with random objects (sticks, silverware, towels, rocks, etc.).	Build a fort!	Create a new board game.  Explain the rules to a family member, and play the game!	Read a story together.  Talk about why you think the author wrote the story.	Pour shaving cream into a pan.  Use your fingers to write your name.  Practice writing the alphabet.
Gather a handful of coins.  Name each coin, sort them by type, and discuss how much each coin is worth.	Get outside with some chalk!  Practice writing your name and sight words.	Use kitchen items to build a tower (cups, canned foods, etc.).  See who can build the tallest tower!	Make a paper airplane.  Test who can make theirs fly the farthest!	Build a Lego town.  (If you don’t have Legos, improvise with something else!)
Play a board game.	What is your favorite book?  Call a friend or relative to tell them why you like it.	Write a letter to a loved one.	Do jumping jacks while counting to 20.  Then do it again, but count backwards to 0.	In honor of St. Patty’s Day, build a leprechaun trap!

Desafiamos a nuestros estudiantes Cherry y sus familias a participar en este desafío BINGO durante nuestros cierres escolares actuales. El objetivo es simple: ¡completar tantos de los siguientes desafíos como sea posible! Se alienta a los padres a subir fotos de sus estudiantes que participan en las actividades a nuestra página de Facebook de Cherry.

Crea un rompecabezas cortando tus propias piezas de una caja de cereal o una imagen antigua.	Cuenta las ventanas de tu casa. Si abrieras dos ventanas, ¿cuántas todavía estarían cerradas?
Haga su nombre con objetos aleatorios (palos, cubiertos, toallas, rocas, etc.).	¡Construye un fuerte!	Crea un nuevo juego de mesa. ¡Explique las reglas a un miembro de la familia y juegue!	Lean una historia juntos. Hable acerca de por qué cree que el autor escribió la historia.	Vierte la crema de afeitar en un sartén. Usa tus dedos para escribir tu nombre. Practica escribiendo el alfabeto.
Reúne un puñado de monedas. Nombre cada moneda, ordénelas por tipo y discuta cuánto vale cada moneda.	¡Sal afuera con un poco de tiza! Practica escribir tu nombre y palabras comunes.	Use artículos de cocina para construir una torre (tazas, latas de alimentos, etc.). ¡Mira quién puede construir la torre más alta!	Haz un avión de papel. ¡Prueba quién puede hacer que el suyo vuele más lejos!	Construye una ciudad de Lego. (¡Si no tienes Legos, improvisa con otra cosa!)
Jugar un juego de mesa.	¿Cuál es su libro favorito? Llama a un amigo o pariente para decirle por qué te gusta.	Escribe una carta a un ser querido.	Haga saltos mientras cuenta hasta 20. Luego hágalo nuevamente, pero cuente hacia atrás hasta 0.	En honor al día de San Patty, ¡construye una trampa para duendes!
